We were delighted to have one of our drivers, Jim MacDonald, take part in the UK Bus Driver of the Year Competition as part of the Lothian Team at the weekend.
The competition, which is regarded as the premier skills event in the bus industry puts drivers through a gruelling series of thory and practical tests. This year, over 100 bus drivers took part demonstrating their knowledge and skills by completing a theory exam, a bus safety check, manoeuvring exercises, as well as a 3-mile driving test.
Scott Crosbie, one of the five drivers who attended the competition as part of the Lothian Team did fantastically well coming third over all with the rest of the team, Adam Stitt, Stephen McLeod, David Swaney and Jim being placed 33rd, 46th, 59th and 74th.
Richard Hall, Managing Director from Lothian said:
Our drivers do a great job day in, day out providing a high quality, reliable service for our customers. We’re extremely proud of Scott and all the drivers who represented Lothian at the final in Blackpool. This national competition was their opportunity to showcase their technical expertise and professionalism and they have all proved they are worthy of being ranked amongst the best in the UK.
