We are delighted to have been Highly Commended in the Bus Operator of the Year Category at the National Transport Awards last night.
The awards, now in their 18th year celebrate the successes of local and national transport projects.
East Coast Buses launched just over two years ago to provide vital transport links for the residents of East Lothian.
In 2017, we carried 3.5 million customers, with year-on-year growth of 30%, and this level of growth and positive trend has continued into 2018.
Murdo McKinnon, our Staff Manager, was also Highly Commended in the Frontline Employee of the Year Category for his passion and enthusiasm for the business and his support for the East Coast team. Many of you will recognise Murdo, he can often be seen driving buses, meeting customers and engaging in community events.
East Coast Buses General Manager, Mark Heritage said:
This is a fantastic result for us, being such a young company competing against some of the leading operators in our industry. We couldn’t have achieved such recognition without the hard work and dedication of our entire team. In the last 24 months, we have invested heavily in our people, our fleet and our premises and this award recognises our ability to deliver a great service and win back trust from the East Lothian community, at a time when bus travel across the industry is in decline.
We’re delighted to have been recognized at National level as part of these prestigious awards and look forward to being part of the local community for years to come.
