The Edinburgh Marathon takes place this Sunday 26 May closing roads across Edinburgh and East Lothian affecting bus stops and services.
If you are travelling to and from the race finishing point in Musselburgh, we recommend that you use bus services 26, 44, 106, 113 or 124. There will be extra buses running on these routes to and from Edinburgh City Centre. Please note only Lothian/East Coast Buses tickets or Scottish National Concession Cards will be accepted for travel on these buses – pre-purchased tickets for use on event shuttle buses will not be valid.
Diverted East Coast Buses services.
Service 124 will be unable to serve Longniddry, Aberlady and Gullane from start of service until approximately 1800 on Sunday. Buses will be diverted via B1377, Drem, Fenton Barns and B1345 in both directions.
Services 106, 113 and 124 will be unable to serve Linkfield Road from 0500 until approximately 1830 on Sunday with most stops on Pinkie Road closed during this time. Buses will be diverted between Musselburgh High Street and Levenhall roundabout, via Newbigging and Pinkie Road in both directions.
A free shuttle service will run between Aberlady (opposite Community Hall), Gullane, Dirleton and North Berwick (Church Road) connecting with service 124.
The shuttle service departs Aberlady (opposite Community Hall) at: 0620, 0720, 0815, and then every 30 minutes until 1710.
And from North Berwick (Church Road) at: 0655, 0755, 0845, 0905, 0945, and then every 30 minutes until 1735.
Whilst these diversions are out with our control, we would like to assure our customers that we will do all we can to keep our buses moving. There will be extra staff working to minimise services disrupted and cater for the additional passenger demand.
